One might have thought that Michael Jordan‘s legacy has been quite well-documented on the silver screen. However, Academy Award-winning Hollywood superstars have come together to present an unheard story about MJ’s life in the upcoming movie, ‘Air’. Back in 2020, when Netflix’s The Last Dance was released, fans were pleasantly surprised by the numerous unheard stories about Jordan and the Chicago Bulls. Fast forward three years, NBA fans have high hopes for ‘Air’ as well. However, some of them, including an eight-time All-Star may have had their hopes crushed after learning new things about the movie.

?’Air’ has been touted as a special movie, with genuine involvement from His Airness himself. However, one NBA star was genuinely puzzled when he learned a new piece of information about MJ’s character in the movie.

The Chicago Bulls legend’s life will be projected on screen from April 5th, featuring an unheard story about him signing his iconic contract with the popular sports apparel brand, Nike. While fans are excited about a movie on MJ’s life, one thought never crossed their mind, which upon discovery has become quite a bit of a disappointment for them.

Just like the fans, Paul George recently expressed his shock after learning that neither Michael Jordan nor any actor playing Michael Jordan would explicitly appear in the movie. In a recent episode of Podcast P with Paul George, the LA Clippers star was met with this information for the first time, courtesy of his co-host Jackie Long.

“They make Air, and No MJ?” said the surprised 32-year-old Clippers Star. He added, “How you make a movie about MJ…ain’t even a dude that’d be on the Walk of Fame…Jordan jersey with the big-a** shorts on?“?

George was seemingly throwing his guesses on how they could’ve shown the Bulls legend in the movie. However, his guesses would probably be in vain as the movie’s director, Ben Affleck has confirmed that despite featuring Oscar-winning actors like Matt Damon and Viola Davis, there’d be no appearance of the legend or his character in the movie explicitly. Damian Young has played the role of Jordan in the movie. But he has only been shown a few times from behind the back.

Although many moviegoers are disappointed with the move, Affleck has mentioned a unique reason for his bold choice of not including MJ’s character as a face in the movie.

Although George has only recently learned about MJ’s absence from the movie, Affleck spoke on his reasons behind the move a few weeks ago. According to a Q&A session following a special premier of the movie, Affleck mentioned how he believed that Jordan’s personality was so “enigmatic” that it’d be impossible to replicate on the screen.

Moreover, with his years of experience as a filmmaker, Affleck was of the opinion that introducing any actor as Jordan would ruin the charm of the movie. The veteran actor also mentioned how his only choice of an actor playing MJ has become a little bit “too old” to play Michael Jordan.
