LeBron James has been a very influential player ever since he entered the NBA in 2003. The Los Angeles Lakers forward was just 18 years old when he joined the Cleveland Cavaliers straight out of high school. However, LeBron does not advise young basketball players to follow the path that he did.

LeBron James has often spoken about his journey to the NBA from being a small kid from Akron. The?Lakers star appeared on Trevor Noah’s The Daily Show a while ago. LeBron talked about his achievements and how he has worked to give something back to society and the people in his community. He has been a part of various programs that support the education and sporting opportunities for underprivileged young kids. Thus, he is often surrounded by young talents who always look up to him.

Noah talked about James’ influence on the younger generation and his advice to young kids about attending college before trying to make it to the NBA. However, LBJ did not attend college himself and became an NBA star right after high school. Noah asked James if kids came to James and questioned him about the whole high school-college basketball scenario.?

LeBron James admitted that kids often approach him and ask why suggests them to go to college, despite not attending college himself. The 18-time All-Star joked about telling the kids that college did not exist back in the day. James said, “Back then when I had an opportunity, I was a lot older than you. They didn’t have college when I came out of high school.” The audience erupted in a fit of laughter by King James’ response as Noah was left laughing his heart out.

The four-time NBA champ has come a long way since. His consistency and longevity has made him the best player of the generation. Even at 37, James came extremely close to the scoring title last season, averaging 30.3 PPG. He is currently the second-highest scorer in league history.

LBJ is set to take over the top spot from Kareem Abdul-Jabbar next season. James has also signed a two-year, $97.1 million extension with the Los Angeles Lakers which will take him through the 2024-25 season.

Hopefully, the Lakers legend will continue to achieve a few more championship rings during his final few seasons in the NBA. Despite the disappointment last season, James would hope to lead the Lakers close to a championship next season.
