The 2017 NBA offseason witnessed several superstars making a trip to Asia. Their appearances added more fire to the growing fandom for the sport in the two-billion-strong continent. The stars included Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, Klay Thompson, Jeremy Lin, and the Curry brothers. However, in that elite bunch, Stephen Curry and his brother, Seth Curry had the most jarring of experiences when they appeared on the Korean entertainment TV show Infinite Challenge.?

In the summer of 2017, Stephen Curry took a bizarre trip to South Korea with his brother Seth Curry. The two brothers appeared on one of the region’s most popular entertainment TV shows and competed in the infamous game, Infinite Challenge.?However, despite being stars in the best league in the world, the two NBA stars had a tough time playing against the show’s cast, at least for a brief period.?

Infinite Challenge has been South Korea’s most popular TV show since it debuted in 2005. Moreover, the show’s many comedian hosts devise ridiculous physical challenges to inflict on celebrity guests, usually based on their profession. Consequently, the Curry brothers’ challenges revolved around the basketball court.

After a host of jarring exchanges, the brothers suited up and arrived at a custom-built court for a five-on-two game. But the game was like no ordinary game back home for the two brothers. Despite the disadvantage of numbers, the showrunners also included many other challenges to make the inevitable beatdown a little more entertaining.

However, surprisingly, these obstacles seemed to have worked. In the first few minutes of the game, the Curry brothers were down by four and were struggling to find a rhythm. Moreover, after a player from the other side knocked down a long three, Steph, who had a mic on him, exclaimed, “They are killing us, they are too athletic.”?However, after a while, Steph and Seth got the hang of it and started to look like their usual selves.?

After a delightful 30 mins of what seemed like pickup basketball, the score at the end of regulation read 53-53. Confident in his All-time ability, ‘Spicy’ Curry insisted on deciding the winner by shooting free throws on a rotating backboard. After a missed attempt by an opponent player, Curry drained the seemingly impossible shot and left everyone in shambles.
