Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving was in the headlines almost everywhere. His off-court antics cost him not only his deal with Nike but also a suspension from the team. Now that Irving has apologized and is back with the Nets squad, the team is arguably looking much better. But not so much for his sneaker deal with Nike, since Nike ended their relationship with him. However, other sporting brands have been showing interest in signing the seven-time All-Star.?

Kyrie Irving and Nike had a long-standing relationship with one another, a relationship that came to an end earlier this month.

Irving may have lost a lot of money due to that deal falling out, but he hasn?t shown any concern regarding it publicly.

Adidas is interested in signing Kyrie Irving

Now, Adidas has reportedly reached out to Kyrie Irving?s team in the hopes of signing him to their brand. And fans were quick to troll the $14.3 billion worth of company on social media.?

One fan tweeted, ?Adidas bringing in the other K named brotha. They are down astronomically bad from losing the Chicago rapper.? Clearly indicating to the controversial rapper Kanye West, who also lost his shoe deal with the company.

Another fan commented, ?I don?t get it. Nike let him go because of the look they?d receive keeping him on their roster? where now puma and adidas are jumping in line to pick him up??

Nike has a huge headstart on Adidas

Given the roster of basketball players in their possession, Nike undoubtedly has a huge jumpstart as compared to Adidas, which only has a few names from the NBA. Meanwhile, Nike has plenty of star players under their contract.?

So, for Adidas to pursue Irving does perhaps make sense when considering that the former NBA champion had one of the most popular signature sneakers in the market when he was with Nike. And Adidas is likely hoping to cash in on that by signing Irving.

However, Adidas is not the only company out there that has displayed interest in signing the Brooklyn Nets star. Puma and New Balance have also reportedly shown interest in adding Irving to their roster of stars under contract.?
