Ignoring Miami’s ‘minor blip’ in Game-1 of the Finals against the Denver Nuggets, Jimmy Butler and the Heat have emerged as a force to be reckoned with. The Heat are pitted against the Denver Nuggets for the championship battle. Game 1 between the teams ended up with the Nuggets emerging victorious, rather fashionably. Denver crushed the Heat as the game ended 104-93. Nikola Jokic registered a triple-double on the scorecard with 27 points, 10 rebounds, and 14 assists. Other than Jokic, Jamal Murray came through for his team yet again with 26 points, 6 rebounds, and 10 assists. This was enough to push the Heat at a 1-0 disadvantage at the beginning of a 7-game series. Butler’s performance was subpar considering the standard he has set for himself. With only 13 points and 7 assists and rebounds, the Playoff Jimmy, as we have come to know, couldn’t perform his magic.
About a week ago, former Pacer Reggie Miller talked about Butler and the Heat on The Dan Patrick Show. When Patrick brought up the conversation that he sees hints of Miller in the way Butler goes about his game, the Pacers legend was shocked. Miller then went on to draw parallels between his game and Butler’s. The 5x NBA All-Star also complimented the Heat for how they build their game around the most lethal shooter on the team. Miller said, “To me, it’s his supporting cast. These dudes will die, they’ll run through a brick wall for him[Butler].”

“I love seeing the supporting cast thrive off of Jimmy Butler,” Miller added. Additionally, he also complimented the Nuggets for following a similar pattern and pushing their chips on their best players. Jokic and Murray have been the best performers for Denver this season and their efforts were acknowledged by the NBA veteran.
