What would you do when you become rich? That’s the one question you probably might have asked yourself or people you know. There are so many dreams and wishes a person aims to fulfill once they can afford to. Especially, if you know what it is like to not be able to afford something. Not being able to afford the simple pleasures in life is sometimes what drives most people to work harder for it. And many do succeed, in such a way that they never even imagined. One such example is none other than NBA great LeBron James.

NBA stars are worth millions of dollars, and in some cases, billions. Their huge mansions and fancy cars make it easy to overlook that luxury was not a constant presence in their lives. Many of the players came from working-class families while others knew the struggles of trying to make ends meet.

NBA stars such as Kevin Durant, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Dennis Rodman, and Scottie Pippen have all had somewhat of a rough childhood before making it big in the league. And so did the billionaire Los Angeles Lakers legend.
LeBron James revisits his old neighborhood
In Nike’s new series ‘What Are You Working On’, LeBron James showed his fans the places he used to visit while growing up. Born and brought up in Akron, Ohio, James has always talked about his hometown and never wandered far off from his roots. While LeBron’s father has remained out of the picture, his mother struggled and worked to provide for her family. After finding immense success in the league, King James is now set on developing the city he grew up in. He aims to create a smooth path for the next generation coming out of the city.

In the series, James drove around the city and showed the neighborhood where he grew up. While passing by a building, he pointed at it and told that there used to be a McDonald’s he used to always go to.
“There were times when I could literally go in there and buy stuff and there were times when I couldn’t,” said James.

LeBron James then visited the I Promise Institute, founded by the LeBron James Family Foundation, and had a fun interaction with the kids. The four-time NBA champion expressed that he wanted to make the city a better place than it was when he grew up. Furthermore, he added that if he is capable of providing the resources needed for the kids to make a better life for themselves, then he would do so.
