Michael Jordan is widely believed to be the cornerstone that the Chicago Bulls needed to win six NBA championships in the 1990s. The Bulls dynasty enjoyed incredible success with Jordan on their side in the league. While the chances of winning six championships in a decade look quite grim without MJ, many critics often compare him with Scottie Pippen, who also contributed heavily to the Bulls’ success. Recently, footage from a former Bulls champion’s interview caused an eruption on camera from renowned comedian and NBA enthusiast Aries Spears.
Aries Spears recently talked about Jordan and Pippen’s beef with host DJ Vlad on his YouTube channel, Vlad TV. During the discussion, a personal opinion from ex-Bulls star John Salley left the popular stand-up comedian riled up.

During a recent appearance on Vlad TV, Aries Spears was asked by DJ Vlad about Pippen and Jordan’s beef, while discussing Larsa Pippen’s relationship with MJ’s son Marcus Jordan. Spears reckoned that he was not entirely sure how the beef between the two Chicago Bulls legends started. DJ Vlad informed him that the differences between MJ and Pippen surfaced after the release of Jordan’s documentary, The Last Dance.
Moreover, DJ Vlad pointed out that Scottie Pippen had the wrong opinion during the production of the documentary. The six-time NBA champ believed that the Last Dance was about the Chicago Bulls together as a team. However, Pippen was left ‘displeased’ after realizing that the documentary mostly centered around Michael Jordan.
Further, Vlad suggested that one could understand Pippen’s frustration of missing out on a more important role in the documentary. Meanwhile, the popular interviewer cited the example of John Salley who played alongside MJ and Pippen during the 1996 championship-winning season.?
However, Spears argued that Salley spent a long time playing for the Detroit Pistons during their rivalry with the Jordan-led Bulls. Therefore, the renowned comedian felt that it was nearly impossible to hear something positive about Jordan from John Salley. In response, DJ Vlad revealed, “Well what he said was that the most skilled basketball player he has ever played with was Scottie Pippen, it wasn’t Jordan.“
After the revelation, DJ Vlad could not help but burst into laughter seeing the frustration on Spear’s face. However, the frustrations soon came out when Salley’s statement about Pippen and Jordan was played in front of him.

After watching the footage of Salley favoring Pippen over Jordan, Aries Spears could not hold his cool. The 47-year-old said,?“You know I hate when idiots make this point when I get into arguments about Jordan and Pippen. Well, Michael never won without Scottie and Scottie never won without Michael. That’s a moot f**king point. No one wins by themselves.”
Spears added,?“Magic needed Kareem and vice versa, Shaq needed Kobe and vice versa, Bird needed McHale and Parish, vice versa. It’s a team fu**ing game. That’s a moot point.”

Moreover, Aries Spears suggested that Michael Jordan was the only missing piece in the puzzle from the Chicago Bulls roster in 1994 and 1995. Despite having nearly the same team, the Scottie Pippen-led Bulls could not make it beyond the Eastern Conference semi-finals. Spears concluded his rant by pointing out that the Bulls immediately started winning after Jordan’s return to the roster.
