The NBA All-Star weekend is upon us which means fans will be privy to some new and memorable moments throughout the event. However, there is a slight change in this year?s All-Star game as opposed to the previous years. Now, this change may have been brought in to protect the sentiments of players participating in the All-Star game. But Kevin Durant?s scathing remarks spin another perspective toward the change.
NBA commissioner Adam Silver introduced a new change in picking players for the All-Star team. The league is looking to avoid a ?last picked? situation in the NBA All-Star draft this year. This means the All-Star captains will pick reserve players first, and then go on to pick their starters.

It can be understood how a couple of years ago, former Utah Jazz players Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert were left in the draft pool for the last picks. This led to sentiments getting hurt not just by players but by their fanbases as well.
However, Phoenix Suns? latest addition, Kevin Durant does not feel that way. Kd gave his views on how players felt regarding being picked last. He said, ?It?s like the brokest millionaire getting picked.?
Fans had their own perspective on the change with one tweeting, ?They don?t. It?s just the league being soft again.?

While another fan commented, ?It should be called the Gobert Rule considering no one, not even nba players, would want an 7 foot offensive cone in the ASG.?

So, it looks like that won?t be the case for this year?s draft. Although what KD said may hold some value as all these players are the best of the best in the league. For any player to get their feelings hurt over it may make sense to some but surely not the KD.
