The Los Angeles Lakers didn’t have the best of starts in the 2022-23 regular season. They ended the pre-season 1-5, with their only win coming against the Warriors. Then they lost their season opener 123-109 to the defending champions on the road. LeBron James led the scoring charts for the game, but couldn’t steer the Lakers to a win. However, one Lakers star is confident that the purple and gold will make it to the playoffs this time – Patrick Beverley.

Patrick Beverley has finally made his Los Angeles Lakers debut against the Golden State Warriors, where he played 25 mins. He was drafted by the Lakers back in 2009 but was later acquired by the Heat. He spent four years on the other side of LA when he played for the Clippers and played his second regular season game as a Laker against the Clippers.
Beverley joined the Lakers in search of his first NBA championship. However, their performance against the Warriors suggested otherwise. But Beverley is very confident that the Lakers will make it to the playoffs this time around.
“We’re going to the playoffs,” Beverley said.
However, the 34-year-old point guard’s message to Lakers supporters does not seem to be going down with them. Fans took to social media to react to Beverley’s message.

A team with LeBron and AD should have championship aspirations. The fact that the bar is so low that making the playoffs is the goal now is sad https://t.co/E18ca6ZmlJ
