As the Los Angeles Lakers try to pluck out the weeds in their roster, Russell Westbrook has been targeted once again. There are trade rumors that have been swirling on and off for the ex-MVP. Apparently, potential trade talks are back on the table. It has been reported that the Lakers are exploring three trade possibilities by December 15, 2022.

Legion Hoops reported that there could be a potential trade for Westbrook and two first-round picks to the Chicago Bulls. Furthermore, DeMar DeRozan and Nikola Vucevic from the Bulls could don a new uniform.

This has frustrated many fans. One user equated the Lakers to a premium soccer club by saying, “The Lakers are Man United”. Both teams are undoubtedly among the biggest names in their respective sports. Additionally, it could also imply how they are linked with almost every other player. NBA fans seemingly had enough of the latest rumors surrounding Westbrook.

ESPN’s Dave McMenamin also spoke about how he was convinced that the Lakers have serious intentions of trading. “We are talking about an imminent trade“, said McMenamin who also commented on the purple and the gold side’s recent performances. He believed that it was vital for the team to improve.

Russell Westbrook has adapted to coming off the bench so far this season. The nine-time All-Star has embraced his new six-man role and delivered on many occasions for the Los Angeles Lakers. Thus it is no surprise that he is also one of the contenders to win the Sixth Man of the Year award.

His potential trade could trigger a multi-team deal. Recent reports have suggested it as “a lot of moving pieces”. It is believed that it could be a catalyst in changing the current NBA landscape.

Along with Russell Westbrook, Patrick Beverley and Kendrick Nunn’s futures within the team are seemingly hanging in the air as well. Moreover, Kendrick Nunn is in the final year of his contract with the Lakers, averaging 5.8 points this season. Beverley has been averaging 4.2 points so far.
