Memphis Grizzlies superstar, Ja Morant is often in the limelight for his on-court exploits. But for the past few days, the two-time All-Star has attracted some unwanted attention after sharing a disturbing video on his social media handle. This sparked a lot of controversies and eventually got him suspended for at least 2 games. Meanwhile, Portland Trail Blazers superstar, Damian Lillard shut down a page that was spreading lies about his name over the aforementioned controversy surrounding Morant.
In response to Lillard calling out the lies, fans took to social media to share their thoughts and opinions. They seemingly stood by the seven-time All-Star.

As Morant’s video has the internet buzzing for the past few days, many fans took the opportunity to voice out their opinions. One such fan brought the name of Lillard into discussion and tweeted that Dame actually came from the life Morant apparently glamorizes, but he left it behind after he found success. A fan shared a couple of screenshots of a Twitter account showing Lillard liking a tweet related to the abovementioned lies.
However, the 32-year-old actually never liked it and therefore was quite furious after coming across the post. He vented his spleen by tweeting, “Let em lie. F*ck I look like liking that. I don?t care who is and is not from the ?trenches? ?”

Apparently, the account regularly shares such kinds of photoshopped images in lieu of fun. However, Dame didn’t want to play games and quickly called them out for their lies. Fans were quick to back the 32-year-old.
Fans supported Lillard for slamming the satire page
As soon as Lillard revealed the truth, it elicited the attention of fans and prompted them to reflect on social media, notably on Twitter. Most of them supported the Trail Blazers guard for speaking out the truth while a few other users pointed out how the internet is full of liars. Apart from that, some were unable to believe that these kinds of posts are circulating on social media.

While Morant is currently suspended for only two games, the league might extend the ban after more investigation. It will be interesting to see the effect of Morant’s actions on the Grizzlies. They currently sit in the 2nd spot in the West with the Playoffs fast approaching.
