These young ballers will ultimately take over the mantle after familiar faces of the league, like superstars LeBron James and Stephen Curry hang up their boots in the future. Speaking of young players, an eight-time All-Star recently revealed the name of his favorite young player in the league, who was born after LeBron’s debut in the league.
The NBA world has been buzzing with expectations of LeBron James playing in the same NBA team with his son Bronny. However, there’s already a player in the league who was born after King James stepped on the NBA hardwood.
Paul George picked this young starlet as his favorite player

In the new episode of his podcast,?Podcast P with Paul George, George touched on several topics before revealing his favorite young player in the current NBA scene. During the podcast, co-host Jackie Long introduced everyone to a new segment on the show, ‘Rated PG’, which is nothing but the Los Angeles Clippers forward rating a new young player.
Subsequently, Long asked George to reveal the name of the player. The now 32-year-old said, “This one was the easy one for me…I didn’t show no love to like no big man and this dude is a sleeper. Y’all probably don’t even know who this kid is.”
Subsequently, he asked his co-hosts, “Do y’all know who the youngest player in the league is?” They kept guessing until George himself disclosed the answer. The Clippers forward said, “Jalen Duren in Detroit [Pistons] – like his game. I like his value… I see him as a baby Dwight Howard… He’s built like a grown-a*s man.”?
The 2016 Olympic Gold medalist continued, “I think he’s gonna be a big-time player. He’s only 19. – He’s got the size – He’s got good feet.”?Following this, co-host, Dallas Rutherford stated a fun fact about Duren, “He is the first NBA player born after LeBron’s first NBA game.” This, in turn, surprised George in a good way and he replied, “That is crazy.”?
Duren is an old-school center whose primary job is to protect the rim. He was acquired by the Pistons in 2022. The 6ft 11 whizz-kid is labeled as a beast and has continued to evolve since he debuted in the league. As of now, the 19-year-old has played 64 games and has averaged 9.1 points and 8.7 rebounds.
The Clippers forward showered adulations on Duren as he acknowledged the Pistons player has the potential to become great in the future.
George revealed how he could have played with LeBron James

In another episode of his podcast, George said he was close to joining the Cleveland Cavaliers from Indiana Pacers. He said, “I thought I was gonna go to Cleveland. Cleveland was close to getting me with Bron there.” Subsequently, he added how a former teammate of James, Dahntay Jones acted as a middleman and took him to the Los Angeles Lakers icon’s house to finalize the deal.

The 32-year-old further revealed that both he and the four-time champion were trying to figure out how to make this deal happen in James’ house. He was optimistic about this deal but ultimately it didn’t happen. George revealed the reason by saying, “It fell through ?cause Cleveland and Indiana are in the same division. So Indy was like – We’re not gon’ trade to our division.”
