The hype around the semifinal series between the Golden State Warriors and the Los Angeles Lakers skyrocketed as superstars faced off. Stephen Curry and LeBron James last met at the playoffs in 2018 when James represented the Cavs. Moreover, the series prompted analysts and fans to bring out their top strategies to tackle opponents. Loyal Lakers fan and iconic rapper Snoop Dogg shocked the Warriors’ fans with his game plan for Curry and the rising star Jordan Poole.

Game 1 of the semifinals went in the Lakers’ favor as they sealed their victory after a close game at the Chase Center last night. The Dubs’ superstar Curry last performance on the court was his scintillating 50-point outburst from game 7 against the Sacramento Kings. Despite Curry and the team’s fighting effort, the Dubs fell 5 points short of the Lakers in their first matchup.

Over the years, Stephen Curry has emerged as an unstoppable force with amazing shooting skills. Teams often try to restrict Chef with double defense and setting tough screens. Rapper and Lakers rooter Snoop Dogg plotted to tackle Curry, while taking a dig at Jordan Poole over his shooting skills.

On a show with ESPN ahead of the Tuesday game, Snoop Dogg discussed his game plan to restrict Curry. He said, “We gonna be probably doubling Steph and somebody else is gonna be open. Jordan Poole, keep shooting. I like the way you keep missing, brother.”

Even though game 1 went against the Dubnation, Poole proved Snoop Dogg’s statement wrong, dropping 21 points including crucial 3-pointers in the first half of the game.

Fans were shocked at Snoop Dogg’s comments. Some defended Jordan Poole and (correctly) predicted that he would fire in game 1. Here are some reactions from NBA Twitter:
