Chris Paul and the Phoenix Suns have been one of the biggest surprise packages this NBA season. While the Suns finished the regular season as the second seed in the regular season, they were never touted as the favorites to make it to the Finals.
But after more than 200 days of a grueling NBA season, two teams remain- the Suns and the Bucks. With two games of the Finals already played, CP3 and the Suns are 2-0 up, and are the clear favorites to win the NBA championship.

Charles Barkley reveals why he roots for Chris Paul to win the championship
Chris Paul might have made his debut 16 years ago, but a championship has always eluded him. Given the lack of championships, Paul has often been included in a list of great players like Karl Malone who have never won a championship.
Hall of Famer Charles Barkley, in a recent interview, explained how CP3’s legacy will be benefitted from a championship. “I think Chris is the best leader we’ve had in the NBA for probably the last 10-15 years. It’s really unfair how in a team sport, they hold it against a guy because he didn’t win the championship.”
Barkley then went on to explain why great players shouldn’t be judged on their number of championships. “I’m hoping he wins it because he’s on the list with me and guys who are already great. Karl Malone, John Stockton, Patrick Ewing and guys who are all-time greats.”
He added, “I never understand how a team sport became we blame an individual because especially if we blame him, he must be really great because we don’t ever say about the other players on the team, we only said about the great players.”

Often legendary players like Malone and Barkley have been criticized for their lack of championships. Despite their countless number of personal achievements, many Hall of Famers are not considered among the best to ever grace the court.
This is perhaps the perfect chance for Chris Paul to silence his critics. With 2-0 up in the series, CP3 and the Phoenix Suns are in a great position to capture the title. Will the veteran point guard finally get his championship?
