Joel Embiid has come up as one of the best players in the NBA over the past few seasons. The big man is revolutionizing the center position yet again, making it relevant in the league. Moreover, he is a fan favorite and is always attracting trouble. However, he recently pulled off a really classy move for an undrafted rookie.

During the matchup against the Pelicans, Embiid and Jose Alvarado received double technical fouls. However, after the game, Embiid won hearts with his actions.

Being a superstar in the league, Embiid is a high-paid player. He earns millions of dollars and a small fine is not much for him. However, that’s not the case with some of the other NBA players. Especially for Alvarado, who is on a two-way contract. Hence, Sixer’s big man came to his aid and helped him out.

Joel Embiid wins hearts by paying off fine

During the game against the Pelicans, Embiid and Jose were involved in a heated moment received double technicals. The NBA fines players for such fouls. It would be tough for Jose to cover these fines being on a two-way contract. Hence, Embiid reached out to him after the game and paid off his fine, and NBA Twitter loved this gesture.

Being on a two ways contract means that things are not easy. Alvarad0 can be cut off at any moment. Moreover, the pay they receive is half of the minimum salary of the NBA. But for Embiid, a fine is nothing that holds major significance. Hence, for Joel to do such a thing is truly kind on his part. While his on-court demeanor may be notorious, off the court he is an understanding individual who is willing to help.

While technicals are not new for Embiid, he is balling out this season. Joel is one of the front runners to win MVP this season. After a dominating season last year, the Sixers center has not missed a beat. He continues to dominate the game and was voted as an All-Star starter in the Eastern Conference.

The Big man is putting up insane numbers averaging 29 points, 10 rebounds, and 4 assists for the season. Even with the loss of Ben Simmons, Embiid has managed to keep Philadelphia in a competing spot for the season. Being in his prime, the big man is tearing the league up.
