The season has finally moved on to its next stage, with Western Conference teams strengthening their squads with several impressive reinforcements. The Los Angeles Lakers have bought in Mo Bamba and DeAngelo Russell to assist LeBron James in the squad. Other teams like the Phoenix Suns and the Dallas Mavericks have bought in behemoths, in the form of Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving respectively. While the All-Star weekend let everyone absorb the blockbuster trades before the trade deadline, it also sparked concern for a certain set of fans, as they saw a familiar union.
Kyrie Irving and LeBron James were spotted hugging at the All-Star weekend, which sparked fans with nostalgia. However, the Dallas Mavericks fans weren’t too happy to see the camaraderie, as they shut out other fans who insinuated a future reunion between James and Irving.

LeBron James and Kyrie Irving were one of the major contributing factors to the 2016 NBA Title win for the Cleveland Cavaliers. Their work together made them a challenging force for the Golden State Warriors, who were dismantling sides at will. The ex-teammates were naturally glad to see each other as they share a lot of history together. They hugged each other in the locker room before the All-Star game.
However, years later their careers have taken different trajectories. Irving has been unable to win a single championship since, or appear in an NBA final. However, King James has managed to appear in two finals, while winning one. Currently, it’d be interesting to see what lies ahead with Irving in a new atmosphere, and James with new teammates.
Fans obviously savor the memories of them playing together, and would wonder what would happen if history could be repeated. But all these thoughts were crushed by Luka Doncic fans, who are excited for Irving to team up with the Slovenian superstar. Here are some of the reactions

I don’t think it happens honestly. The way the front office has held to building toward the future I just don’t see them getting rid of a great young PG for a 31 year old PG. crazier things have happened tho 🤷♂️

The Lakers fan who uploaded the video also threw a slight dig at DeAngelo Russell. The latter has just been traded in, to team up with James. Although a reunion might not be on the cards, the All-Star game surely made fans nostalgic as they saw the duo together on the court once again.
