The Los Angeles Lakers came away with a victory in their last matchup with the Denver Nuggets. But the win came at the cost of losing one of their star players in Anthony Davis. And now that the Lakers are set to face the Washington Wizards next, the latest injury update on Davis might be bad news for Lakers fans.?

In the last game against the Nuggets, Davis ended up tweaking his ankle in the first quarter. He received the ball in the post and drove to the rim against Nikola Jokic. Even though Davis was able to finish, he landed awkwardly, hobbling on one leg.

Injury update on Anthony Davis

The team?s leading scorer did play the entire first half of the game but did not return to the floor for the second half. And now an injury update was given by Shams Charania that rules out Davis for their next game against the Washington Wizards.

Fans seem to have gotten used to seeing Anthony Davis go down with constant nagging injuries this season. One fan tweeted, ?The day before the game? That?s gotta be against the rules or something in today?s #Nba.?

Another fan commented, ?Yeah…they need start docking there paycheck…like every other person in this world that don’t come to work…if Dr says they ain’t nothing broke or tore…get ya a** out there.?

Fans were quick to mock Davis for having a couple of good games before going down with yet another injury that sidelines him.

AD was certainly on a tear these past few games. He had back-to-back 30+ point games prior to the game against the Denver Nuggets. He even started the month of December with 44 and 55-point performances in the first two games.

Davis led the team in three different stats

Furthermore, Davis had been leading the Lakers in points, blocks, and rebounds. He was averaging 27.4 PPG, 12.1 RPG, and 2.1 BPG so far. Now with Davis out of the lineup, the next leading scorers to help out LeBron James are Lonnie Walker IV and Russell Westbrook.

And even though the point average for Austin Reaves hasn?t made a giant leap, he has scored some crucial points for the Lakers. Another update on the injury Davis sustained revealed that he did experience some discomfort in his right foot but nothing severe.?
