During the All-Star game in 2020, American rapper Commons delivered a tribute to the city of Chicago. In his performance, he subtly reminded the NBA world of how Michael Jordan advertised the Air Jordan III. Commons said, “How he (Jordan) jumped from the free-throw line and dunked with his tongue out. In the ’88 All-Star game when them new Jordans were brought out.” With this image in mind, DJ Khaled did something similar to promote his line of Air Jordans.

Earlier this year, DJ Khaled announced his collaboration with Nike’s Air Jordan 5 line. ‘We The Best,’ is the result of this collab. Through the course of the year, Khaled has resorted to unique ways of promoting the famous silhouette. Apart from distributing his line to NBA players, Khaled flaunted the shoes during an NBA game and protected them with a pillow. He even made a restaurant present the shoes to him like it were a delicious dish.
However, the promotion that left the NBA Twitter in shambles was his stint in Paris. In front of the Eiffel Tower, DJ Khaled jumped up in the air and tried to imitate the Air Jordan logo. Not only did the famous DJ imitate Michael Jordan’s dunk but he also copied his ways of promoting the shoes. He captioned the post, “PARIS 🇫🇷 AIR KHALED #WETHEBEST.” Subsequently, this left NBA fans in a hilarious fit of laughter.
