The 2022-23 NBA season was a disappointment for both Damian Lillard and Giannis Antetokounmpo, as their respective teams drastically underperformed. While the Portland Trail Blazers failed to make the Playoffs, Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks, who ended a 50-year championship drought in 2021, were swept in the first round of the playoffs by the eight-seeded Miami Heat, which was a significant setback for the Eastern Conference favorites. Now, fans have lost their minds after coming across Lillard’s latest social media activity as the 32-year-old suggested a possible team-up with the Greek Freak.

In response to their respective teams’ disappointments, both Lillard and Antetokounmpo are looking for ways to make changes. Lillard has been allegedly recruiting players, including being courtside for a Brooklyn Nets vs. Philadelphia 76ers game and being active on Twitter.

For Lillard, this isn’t a new problem as he has been at odds with the Portland Trailblazers’ management for years over the lack of talent surrounding him. Lillard even appeared to support Draymond Green’s stomping incident on Domantas Sabonis, likely due to his friendship with Green. However, the most significant indication of Lillard’s plans is his recent retweet of a picture of Antetokounmpo wearing a Blazers jersey. While Lillard hasn’t addressed this tweet yet, it would certainly be a terrifying matchup for the league.

However, adding another player of that caliber will be difficult due to salary cap constraints. Despite these obstacles, having two superstars on the same team virtually ensures consistent deep playoff runs. Lillard also deleted his retweet shortly after he posted it, but fans were quick to start speculating.

The loss to the Miami Heat in the first round of the playoffs was a significant blow, and he may be looking for a change of scenery.
