The dramatic buzz around the Los Angeles Lakers-Memphis Grizzlies matchup gets further intensified with each game. In Game 4, LeBron James got into clutch mode and seized an overtime win for the Lakers. Despite these games being dramatic episodes by themselves, Grizzlies stars like Dillon Brooks and Ja Morant have been doing their part to spice the drama up. Brooks’ face-off with LeBron, both on and off the court, became one of the biggest talking points about this first-round matchup. However, the Grizzlies have been facing flak after they lost two straight games. Besides, one of LeBron’s former teammates has now added insult to the injuries of Brooks and Ja.

The dramatic buzz around the Western Conference clash picked up momentum in Game 2. Dillon Brooks stared down LeBron James after making a three. Besides, the two stars exchanged heated words during the game. Spicing up the tensions with LeBron, Dillon Brooks went all guns blazing in a post-game interview. Brooks poked fun at LeBron and even said that King James was old. Apart from Brooks, Ja Morant also went gaga on social media after his team defeated the Lakers. However, the NBA world is now pointing out that Brooks and Ja, especially Brooks, do not show the same enthusiasm outside the court after losing games.

Last night, LeBron’s clutch showdown and the Lakers’ eventual win became a hot topic in the basketball world. Richard Jefferson and crew weighed in on the same in an episode of NBA on ESPN. At one point, the crew started to shed light on Memphis Grizzlies players evading the media. Jefferson was quick to call out Brooks and Ja for not speaking up after a vanquished game, in spite of going gaga after a win. “If you are not going to talk to the media after two straight games, that to me is cowardice,” said Jefferson.

Jefferson emphasized that he did not regard Ja Morant and Dillon Brooks as cowards. Rather, he condemned their act of ducking the media. Moreover, he also said that Brooks’ face-off with LeBron was not unsportsmanly. Brooks, according to Jefferson, was keeping the energy alive. However, LeBron’s former teammate cannot tolerate it when Brooks dodges the media after losses.

While the Grizzlies have faced the wrath of the NBA world over the past few days, they will be hoping to bounce back with a big performance on Wednesday. They will certainly need it if they don’t want to become the first 2nd seed to exit the postseason in the first round in over a decade.
