After getting off to a slow start to the season due to arthroscopic surgery on his left knee over the summer, it seems like Zach LaVine has reverted to his former self. The 2x All-Star guard appears to be on a roll since his season-high (43 points) performance against the Detroit Pistons last Friday. Gaining momentum slowly, LaVine dropped another 40 bomb against the Philadelphia 76ers last night, all the while making history. In fact, the Bulls star joined the elite company of Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry, leaving NBA fans in awe.
LaVine and the Chicago Bulls came out on top against the Joel Embiid-less 76ers last night. LaVine had a monster game scoring 41 points. However, besides the impressive scoring feat, LaVine also heralded himself alongside Stephen Curry in the annals of history.

The Chicago Bulls (18-21), who have been plagued by injuries all season, have recently found a break in the last two games, after defending potential title contenders Brooklyn Nets (26-13) and the 76ers (23-15). Last night the Bulls bested the Philadelphia 76ers in an impressive 126-112 win. However, the night’s highlight was undoubtedly, LaVine’s historic shooting feat. He put up 41 points, two rebounds, and six assists. However, his unbelievable shooting efficiency of 73.7% from the field and 84.6% from three heralded him alongside Stephen Curry to share a historic record.
The 2x All-Star, who made 11 out of 13 threes last night, became one of only two players in NBA history, along with 4x NBA champion Stephen Curry, to make 11 threes, shooting over 80% from deep.
However, last night’s game also got LaVine closer to another All-time record. Yesterday was the young guard’s fourth 40-point game with 70% shooting, incidentally breaking 6x NBA champion Scottie Pippen’s record of three such games. Now, no one stands between him and the Bulls legend Michael Jordan. The Hall of Famer has recorded 12 such games. However, LaVine, entering his prime at age 27, will certainly have his chance to best the record.
