Djokovic’s revelation, however, may cause some disappointment for fellow tennis player, Coco Gauff.

Novak Djokovic made it clear that he’s supporting his countryman Nikola Jokic in the upcoming NBA Finals. The “Jokers” are two of the very few athletes from Serbia to have reached the uppermost echelons of their respective sports. Apart from sharing their nickname, the tennis star shared a few words of encouragement for his countryman.
Novak Djokovic, a self-proclaimed basketball enthusiast, openly expressed his support for Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets in the NBA Finals, stating, “Go Jokic, go Denver all the way. I really like Jimmy Butler, I think he’s a great guy. I admire him a lot. I’m a big basketball fan. I know he’s been coming to watch some of the tennis tournaments in the States.”? Djokovic’s preference for Jokic winning his first championship ring, however, might cause some disappointment for Coco Gauff, as she shares a respectful relationship with Jimmy Butler.
Butler had? previously extended an open invitation to Gauff, making a promise, stating, “OK, when we make the Finals, let me know if your family wants some tickets.”
Djokovic’s statement coincided with a recent gesture of appreciation from Nikola Jokic, who presented him with flowers just a few days prior.

Nikola Jokic praised his fellow Serbian and tennis superstar Novak Djokovic, acknowledging him as a representative of Serbia on a larger scale. Jokic recognized Djokovic as the biggest sporting icon to come out of Serbia, having achieved nearly every accolade in the tennis world, and expressed his aspiration to emulate Djokovic’s stature to become a similarly influential figure.
