At the height of his career, Michael Jordan shocked the NBA world when he announced his abrupt retirement from the game in 1993. A few months into his retirement, coming off a legendary three-peat with the Chicago Bulls, Jordan, with all the time in the world, made an appearance for an interview with TV host Larry King. The interview took place at the iconic MJ restaurant in Chicago.

In the taped 1993 interview, among other things, Jordan harped on his new retirement lifestyle. While doing so, King pointed out that the then 3x champion was financially secure enough to pursue his ambitions outside the NBA and sustain his lifestyle and family without any hassle. Jordan, who had amassed generational wealth by then, replied in the affirmative. Moreover, he also harped on how he learned his financial lessons through experience. Consequently, the two then discussed what he does all day after such an intense career.?

Jordan revealed his uneventful and ambitionless lifestyle with a subtle dig at himself for not doing household chores regularly. He said, “When I wake up, I wonder what I want to do that day. And I think the part of the charm is you are able to go out and do it. That means hanging out with the kids all day, great. Taking over your wife’s activities for a day; that’s not great. But whatever I choose to do I want to do.”?
