The oldest child of NBA legend Shaquille O?Neal is Taahira O?Neal. She is Shaq’s only child with ex-girlfriend Arnetta Yardbourgh. Taahirah was born in 1996 before O’Neal joined the Los Angeles Lakers from the Orlando Magic. Despite his split with Yardbourgh, Shaq remained close to his daughter over the years. While some of his children are in the spotlight, Taahirah is not. She maintains a very low profile and leads a simple life, like most women her age.

Taahira has some similarities with her superstar father. Like the ‘Big Diesel’,?his daughter values education a lot. Before joining the league, Shaq played college basketball for LSU for three years. He initially did not complete his degree as he joined the NBA. However, O’Neal knew his parents wanted him to graduate and went back to college and graduated. Later on, he also completed his master’s degree in business to be knowledgeable and to be in charge of all his business deals.
Taahira graduated in 2019 with a degree in sociology and two minors in both politics and African American studies. And the Los Angeles Lakers legend made sure he did not miss his daughter’s big day.

O’Neal was at his hilarious best during the graduation. However, he admitted he missed a lot of his children’s important events over the years. “I have six kids. I missed a lot of birthdays, a lot of graduations. I let everybody down. And I try to make up for that every day. You know, just try to be the best dad that I can,”?O’Neal said.
During the post-graduation party, Shaq had a few words to say as well. “Taahira I’m so proud of you. I wanna say I love you. And I’m looking forward to you going to law school and getting your master’s and taking over my company so that I can retire,” Shaq revealed. Huge announcement indeed considering the business empire he has built over the years.
