Stephen Curry put on an offensive masterclass at TD Garden in Game 4 of the NBA Finals. The Celtics crowd witnessed a 6?3 guard dismantle one of the game’s toughest defenses on sheer skill and cutthroat shot-making.

The human sniper tallied 43 points and collected 10 rebounds. Curry caught fire from beyond the arc, sinking 7 three-pointers to tie the series at 2-2. This is still an uphill battle, but Curry and the Warriors unleashed a potentially momentum-changing display.

Curry was unstoppable in Game 4. The Celtics were committed to the task at hand. They hounded Curry all over the court, contesting his shots; however, it didn’t really matter. His ruthless shot-making proved too much for the Celtics’ defense to handle. Curry stated that he went into Game 4 wanting to go lights-out. He was well aware of how swiftly the momentum in the Finals might flip.

The former 2-time MVP broke and achieved several records en route to his outburst against the Celtics. Stephen Curry joined an exclusive club, becoming the third-oldest player in NBA Finals history to score 40 or more points, behind only Michael Jordan and LeBron James.

Many have questioned Curry’s ability to show up in crucial games. Many of his critics believe he vanishes in those clutch situations when his team needs him the most. Tracy McGrady is one of them, as he recently made a bold statement about Stephen Curry.

Tracy McGrady’s bold take on Stephen Curry

Stephen Curry has spearheaded the Golden State Warriors from the outset, powering them to become one of the greatest legacies in NBA history.

According to Tracy McGrady, however, it doesn’t mean that Curry is placed in the top tier of the greatest players ever. McGrady explained this to NBC Sports, putting Curry’s legacy in the league into question.

“That’s a tough question,” McGrady said when asked where Curry ranks among the all-time greats.

“Because he has his career individually and with what he’s accomplished with his team is tough. Because you?ve gotta think, he won a championship, right, against LeBron (James) that didn’t have Kyrie (Irving), that didn’t have Kevin Love. He didn’t win the [Finals] MVP, right? Then he loses a 3-1 lead to LeBron, gets KD. KD comes and wins two championships, so that gives Steph three championships but KD wins the two MVPs, right?”

“We know Steph is like the 3-point god. But when it comes to putting him with (Michael Jordan) and these guys that won that level of championships; Kobe (Bryant) and Magic Johnson, I don’t know where to rank him. I know he’s pretty high. But I think those guys are in a different class than Steph Curry. They’re on championship teams.”

McGrady puts Curry’s legacy in focus by saying all this. Curry, however, may sway his perspective by playing the way he has and eventually winning his 4th ring and his first Finals MVP.
