With six championship journeys, it is hard to choose the most insane moment. However, arguably, Jordan’s last shot against Utah Jazz in the finals takes over everything. Knowing it was truly the last ride, MJ produced another masterpiece in Game 6 and hit the dagger.
The fracturing team came together once again in those final moments. Now, Michael Jordan’s game-worn jersey from 1998 is all set to hit the auction table. Many expect it to surpass Babe Ruth’s 1920 jersey sale, which racked up $4 million.
Michael Jordan to set an auction record?
When it comes to the world of baseball, Babe Ruth is one of the biggest players in the history of the game. Although he was one of the most deadly left-arm pitchers, that was just one part of his dominance. Ruth was also a home run machine. At one point, the seven-time World Series winner had the most home runs in MLB history. Likewise, when his jersey went under the hammer, it smashed the records. In 2012, his jersey sold for a whopping $4 million.
Since then, another one of Ruth’s jerseys broke the threshold. However, Michael Jordan may be creeping in. A jersey from his revolutionary 1998 finals series against the Jazz is ready to test that auction record. With a price range of $3 million-$5 million, that is only the estimate. According to the auctioneer, the sky is the limit for this rare piece of clothing.

Apart from the story behind his jersey, there are a lot more details that make the 1998 piece special. In his last triumph, Jordan averaged 33.5 points, 4 rebounds, and 2.3 assists. The master scorer was in full flourish, torching a tough Utah Jazz. In addition, the iconic NBA logo on the jersey only adds to the value. However, the biggest factor is the NBA finals patch. All these elements make this jersey a major collectible item.
