Stuck in a Blizzard Storm, “Crazy” Charles Barkley Resorted to Stripping Only to Avoid Scary Encounter in New York City

Fans might currently know Charles Barkley as a humorous NBA analyst on TNT, but the 11x All-Star dominated the game for 16 years. However, before his rise to fame, he went through a lot of troubling situations during his youth. He even spent several days behind bars for various reasons. One such incident was when Barkley stripped his clothes in the middle of the street during a blizzard storm for an uncanny reason.

During an appearance on Spittin’ Chiclets, Charles Barkley revealed various hilarious incidents during his hooping career in the four-hour-long conversation. He also opened up about his infamous ‘Blizzard storm stripping’ incident. Chuck recalled the night when he walked down the empty snowy streets of New York along with his friend’s wife. During that time, the Phoenix Suns legend saw three men running toward him, as he described, “This sh*t ain’t good. Nobody should be running this time of night.” 

Before Barkley could even think of anything, the three men came up to him and said, “We’re gonna kick your a**,” reasoning that they didn’t like him. Meanwhile, Chuck, afraid of getting whooped, said to himself, “I gotta do something, so that’s it. I gotta make these motherf***** think I’m crazy.”

The 60-year-old NBA analyst further revealed how he stripped his clothes in the freezing cold and impersonated the iconic ‘Wipe on wipe off’ scene from the 1984 film, The Karate Kid.

While two men backed out, looking at Chuck’s strange behavior, one guy still stood his ground. Barkley took his chance and gave him a hard blow and left him to bleed on the ground. However, the story didn’t end well for the NBA legend, as half an hour after the incident, he was sent behind bars for assaulting a fan. There are several such incidents that got him into trouble, and one of them was disobeying traffic rules.

In 2009, the cops arrested Chuck for disobeying traffic rules after a night of partying during New Year’s and put him behind bars for 5 days. However, in a recent show, Barkley admitted his mistake and apologized to the public.
