The market for Kyrie Irving has been very bad. There are only a few teams willing to take the maverick point guard. The Los Angeles Lakers are reportedly the favorites but there has been no agreement yet with the Brooklyn Nets. Both parties are still stuck on the price and negotiations have come to a standstill.

Another team whose name is always bandied about is the Miami Heat. Miami is said to be the preferred destination of Irving’s teammate, Kevin Durant. But Miami has reportedly set its sights on both. They want at least one of these players and has offered one of their stars as compensation.

Kyle Lowry has been part of this Miami team since last year. The 36-year-old point guard had to go through several injuries during this year’s playoff stage. His stats are still decent. He scored 13.4 points and had 7.5 assists per game. Lowry shot 37.7% from beyond the three-point arc. But the Heat are worried about his declining fitness.

They want someone younger to share responsibilities with Jimmy Butler. Kyrie Irving is said to be that guy for them. With the minutes he has played, Irving has scored 27.4 points per game. The Heat arguably needs Irving to be their second portion scorer to support Jimmy Butler.

Kyrie Irving either wants to or doesn’t want to leave the Nets

There have been contradicting reports about whether Kyrie Irving wants to leave or not. Earlier reports suggested that he wanted to join the Los Angeles Lakers. Yesterday, the New York Post wrote that the player wants to stay and play for the Nets. Only Irving knows what he wants. The only confirmed fact is that the point guard had already signed his player option worth $36.9 million with the franchise.

But will he stay one more year with the Brooklyn Nets? He might just and the Nets don’t seem to be in any hurry to sell him. They will probably try again next season with a fully healthy Ben Simmons.

The Nets undoubtedly want proper compensation if they lose both their two stars. Can the Miami Heat give them that? Would Kyle Lowry be good enough? Maybe not, but it could be worth a try.
