Stephen Curry once violated NBA guidelines twice within the confines of a single week. In fact, one of the violations was prompted by a shoe collaboration with former President of the United States Barack Obama. As it turns out, Stephen Curry had to immediately stop wearing his new design of shoes after the league issued an embargo on them.
Stephen Curry has established himself as one of the most exemplary and respectable players in the league over the years. In fact, he has set an example for younger players to follow in terms of conducting himself on and off the court.

However, the Dubs superstar once violated the NBA’s regulations twice in one week. And he had a former US President as his accomplice.
Stephen Curry breaks NBA rules twice in a single week
The Golden State Warriors?star designed a new set of apparel in 2018 to celebrate the Chinese New Year. In fact, the jerseys bore the colors and iconography of Chinese culture. As it turns out, the imagery of the garments fascinated Curry.
As a result, the Dubs guard designed a pair of custom Curry 4s using similar iconography of Chinese heritage. However, the four-time NBA champion had little idea about the league’s policies on shoe colors.
In other words, the NBA rules declared that the colors of a player’s shoes should match the team’s colors. Moreover, the shoe should display no other logo except the brand’s signature logo.
Meanwhile, before the league could take any action, Curry broke the rule again. In fact, the two-time MVP collaborated with former President Barack Obama to support the MGK Alliance, an organization that seeks to provide different opportunities to the youth of America for their progression.
As it turns out, Stephen Curry rocked the organization’s logo on his kicks instead of the regular Under Armour logo. Therefore, the league had to take notice.
The NBA bans Curry’s shoes

The NBA immediately banned the use of Curry’s custom shoes. Therefore, Stephen Curry entered the long list of players who had to withstand an accessory ban from the league.
However, the NBA would amend its law on the matter a while later. In fact, it would uplift any restrictions on the colors used in shoes by NBA players.
