Off-season pick-up games are a joy for fans. Old, new and former players often play together during this time of the year. Whether it’s for conditioning, practice, or just for fun, players love facing each other in amateur settings. Klay Thompson was recently called up for such a duel by a former Finals MVP. Fans are curious to see how the Splash Bro responds and if he’ll make the challenging NBA player regret their words.
All this is added to by the fact that the contest isn’t even a basketball match!

The basketball court is not the battleground Klay Thompson has been summoned to. His own teammate wants to face Klay, but not on the hardwood. Somewhere else, surrounded by greenery.

That’s correct, Andre Iguodala will be facing Klay Thompson at the 12-hole scramble at Wynn Golf Club. And all of this is for a good cause – the No Kid Hungry campaign.
Andre has taken the onus on this one and put up a tweet that’s half hopeful and half a challenge to his NBA colleague Klay Thompson.? Andre Iguodala previously played with Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors for 6 years, leaving briefly before returning in 2021.
.@KlayThompson better show out tomorrow w/ all this travel madness I’m going thru!! #TheMatch

It will be interesting to see who comes out on top at this charity match. More importantly, fans are wondering whether this incident holds more banter in store.
A second love; NBA players and golf courses
Andre and Klay won’t be the first NBA players to take refuge on the greens. Several NBA legends have decided to play competitive as well as casual golf. Players like Bill Russell, Ray Allen, and of course, Michael Jordan have at some point in time been spotted swinging the club.

Iggy and Thompson’s star teammate, Curry, also enjoys teeing off sometimes. In fact, Stephen Curry participated in the first Web.com tour. As top-level athletes, it seems that NBA stars enjoy playing a sport without the glare of an arena over their shoulders.
Or perhaps, they just like wearing khaki.
