The NCAA Division I Men’s Tournament is underway with fans fawning over the games. With the tournament being less than a week old, some major upsets have been pulled off already. However, it isn’t just the men’s tournament turning heads as the Women’s Division too has been making a buzz. So much so that WNBA stars like Sue Bird and Sabrina Ionescu applaud this future star along with Stephen Curry.

Iowa Hawkeyes star player Caitlin Clark has impressed many during this year’s NCAA Division I Women’s Tournament. The Hawkeyes recently blew out the Southeastern Louisiana women’s team by a huge margin. This has prompted some of the most prominent names in the basketball world to express their admiration for the 21-year-old.

Future WNBA star left Stephen Curry and many others impressed

The game between Iowa and Louisiana ended with the Hawkeyes emerging victorious with a final score of 95-43. Hawkeyes point guard Caitlin Clark earned plenty of plaudits with an impressive performance in the blowout victory.

Clark ended the game with 26 points, 12 assists, and 7 rebounds. The performance from the Hawkeyes point guard was so impressive that it caught the attention of WNBA stars Sue Bird and Sabrina Ionescu.

It wasn’t just the WNBA stars applauding Clark. Golden State Warriors star and four-time NBA champion Stephen Curry too couldn’t help but be impressed by her performance. 

When asked why Caitlin Clark is the most exciting player in the Women’s NCAA Tournament, Curry had nothing but praise for the future star. He said, “She’s fearless. No shot is a bad shot when you can shoot it as well as she can.”

When asked to give her views on Clark, Sue Bird said, “The relationship between her passing and scoring is…really probably going to be one of the best attributes of her game.”

New York Liberty star, Sabrina Ionescu, commented on her game stating, “Caitlin is having a great season, and she’s changing the game one triple-double at a time.”

Sue Bird and Sabrina Ionescu will have some competition

Caitlin Clark has an impressive resume in terms of basketball. Clark was a five-star recruit coming out of high school. She once scored 60 points in a single game while also breaking the single-game three-point record with 13 converted threes.

Clark has represented the country thrice in FIBA, once as an under-16 player and twice as an under-19 player. And all three times, she has brought home the gold medal and bragging rights along with her.

There is no doubt that she will go on to become a star in the WNBA in the next few years.
