NBA superstar Stephen Curry and Ayesha Alexander tied the knot in 2011. They have two daughters Riley and Ryan, and a son Canon Curry. The sharpshooter first met Ayesha in a church in 2003 when she was 14 and Curry was 15. And she sure made an impression. However, they did not see each other at the time. Ayesha and her family had just moved to Charlotte, North Carolina from Canada when she first met Curry. After graduating from high school, Ayesha moved to Los Angeles to pursue her acting career.

Then in 2008, the two bumped into each other when Curry was in Los Angeles for the ESPYs. The two went out and soon started dating. At the time, Steph was still at Davidson College. Curry then declared for the 2009 NBA draft and the Golden State Warriors selected him as the seventh overall pick. After dating for a couple of years, Steph proposed to Ayesha in 2010. However, Ayesha initially rejected Steph when he first tried to kiss her, leading to an awkward moment between the couple at the time.
Later on, Stephen Curry talked about how he proposed during an interview for Warriors TV. He admitted that he proposed in his parent’s driveway in Charlotte.

Talking about the way he proposed, Stephen Curry said, “I didn’t have anything written down. So I just kind of went with what I was feeling at the moment. But I think she said it went over nice and romantic. And like I said the whole family was there to kind of add a little flair to the end.”
The former MVP also added that he asked his future father-in-law for Ayesha’s hand first. He stated that his parents raised him right in teaching him the process.

After his displays for Davidson College, there were huge expectations from Curry. However, there were concerns about his health as well. He suffered from nagging ankle injuries. Throughout the 2010-11 season, he suffered with his ankle. Then in the off-season, he underwent surgery. The 2011-12 season was delayed due to the lockout and began only in December. And this gave Curry a bit more time to rehab.

Because of the lockout and the delayed start, the season was shortened to 66 games. However, Curry’s injury woes continued as he only played 26 games that season. So there were huge doubts about his future at the time.
But he came back stronger in the next season, playing 78 games and averaging over 20 points for the first time. It was his fourth season in the league. In the next few seasons, Curry began to establish himself as a superstar and went on to win the regular season MVP award twice in 2015 and 2016. He has since led the Warriors to four NBA titles in the past eight years.
