The Golden State Warriors beat the Boston Celtics in Game 6 on Thursday to seal the franchise’s 7th NBA championship. It was their fourth in the last eight years. Only Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and Andre Iguodala have been a part of these 4 titles. By doing so, they joined an exclusive list of NBA stars who have won four rings in their careers such as LeBron James and Shaquille O’Neal.
Winning another one will not only push them above James and Shaq, but they will join an even more exclusive list of NBA legends with five rings. A well-renowned analyst in Stephen A.Smith certainly thinks that will be the case next year.

Stephen Curry joins an elite list of legends
Only a handful of players can claim that they have won 4 titles in their careers. Among active players, only LeBron James has won 4 rings along with the above-mentioned Warriors quartet. Curry boosted his legacy by winning the Finals MVP for the first time. Now, there should be no doubt about his place among the highest echelons of basketball greats.
While being on the list of superstars with 4 rings is a great achievement, there is no reason why Curry and the Warriors cannot go for more. He doesn’t seem to be slowing down and with the young core of the team improving, they should be considered favorites to repeat next year. The Warriors have proved their championship pedigree for a long time now.

While it will take a lot of effort to go all the way again next year, the Warriors are well accustomed to it. Curry can certainly catch up with NBA legends such as Kobe Bryant and Tim Duncan. It will be another feather on the cap of an already legendary career.
