Stephen Curry is undisputedly one of the greatest players to ever play in the NBA. He might even end up being in the top 10 players of all time by the end of his career. Another status he has achieved, and in fact has next to no competition, is his shooting. Curry is widely recognized as the best shooter in the history of the NBA.

Although many players had exceptional shooting and especially deep shooting talent, the way Curry changed the game has been extraordinary. He has gotten his fair share of deserved recognition over the years.?

However, NBA legend Tracy McGrady has had his doubts about the legacy of Stephen Curry. He certainly rates him as one of the greats and gave him his due credit. But McGrady said that he would not keep the “three-point god” on the same level as Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, and Kobe Bryant.

McGrady was asked where Curry ranks in NBA history and how he rated him. He answered, ?That?s a tough question. Because he has his career individually and with what he?s accomplished with his team is tough. Because you?ve gotta think, he won a championship, right, against LeBron that didn?t have Kyrie, that didn?t have Kevin Love. He didn?t win the [Finals] MVP, right? Then he loses a 3-1 lead to LeBron, gets KD, KD comes and wins two championships, so that gives Steph three championships but KD wins the two MVPs, right??

Tracy then called Steph a three-point god. But he did not know where to rank him among the legends like Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, and Kobe Bryant. He said that Stephen Curry is certainly pretty high up.

But McGrady believes that he has had help along the way when he and the Golden State Warriors won two consecutive titles and Kevin Durant won two consecutive Finals MVPs. He also does not think that Steph was the best Warriors player when KD was on the team.

Surely Steph must?ve not heard or read what Tracy said. But he sure put up a performance worthy of making even his critics stand up and clap. He led the Warriors in Game 4 to make it 2-2 in the NBA Finals against the Boston Celtics. Steph scored 43 points and guided the Warriors to a 107-97 victory.?

Certainly, a performance that would have impressed McGrady as well. This was not the first time McGrady had criticized a massive star of recent times. Earlier in the year, he criticized Giannis Antetokounmpo when he said that Giannis would have struggled in the NBA in his time.?
