The deadly duo of Kevin Durant and James Harden were recently broken up. However, long before this, KD’s separation from Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors made every possible headline. With other aspirations, Durant decided to call it quits after an outstanding stint with Steve Kerr and co. And Curry revealed an interesting chat he had with his former teammate, once he made an exit.

From 2015-18, the NBA was more or less a two-horse race. While several other franchises threatened, the Warriors and Cavaliers ran riot for four years. Within this, the men in blue and yellow won 3 titles, with Curry and Durant at the helm. Although the 8-time All-Star’s biggest asset is his shooting, he also had some devastating stars playing alongside him. Thus, KD’s exit in 2019 came as a shock to the entire franchise.

They say that all good things eventually come to an end. Such was the case with Durant and the Warriors. Following the possibility of some ego clashes and minor arguments, it was the end of the road for the 12-time All-Star at a franchise that he loved with all his heart. Before his ouster, however, the ace forward reportedly texted Steph, informing him that he was leaving. It was truly the end of an era.

In the texts that followed, Stephen Curry reminisced the good times with his mate, and wished him well. He said, “I obviously just wished him well, because at the end of the day, if you had decisions like that and you’re a grown-ass man that’s trying to do what you feel is right for you, I’m not coming in here trying to change your mind.” Instead, the two men celebrated a memorable time together and went their separate ways.
Great friends and rivals, Curry and Durant remain two of the most talented athletes of this generation? After their separation, neither of them has managed to win a championship. However, will 2022 be the year that changes either of their fortunes?
