Doing what he does best, Stephen Curry is well and truly in contention for the MVP title in 2021-22, yet again. The 33-year-old is headlining the NBA this season and spearheading the Golden State Warriors to a convincing playoff spot. However, the road to greatness hasn’t been easy for Steph. He had to encounter numerous challenges along the way. But as the saying goes, what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.

Speaking of stronger, Curry recently revealed how Kobe Bryant once praised him, which left a deep impact on him.

Stephen Curry recalls Kobe Bryant’s inspiring words of praise for him

One of the greatest players in history, ‘Mamba’ Kobe Bryant recognized talent when he saw it. During the dying years of his career, the late legend witnessed Curry’s walloping rise in the ranks. Both parts of the NBA’s top-75 team, Golden State’s 3-time title winner reminisced a time when the former 18-time All-star showered praises on him.

Appearing on a new golf series named ‘Range Talk’, Curry discussed his career, records, and more. As he smacked balls across the driving range, he told the host Roger, “One of my greatest compliments that I got, was from Kobe.”

The duo of Curry and Kobe have come up against each other 15 times in all. So when the latter applauded the former, it was a matter of honor for him. “He said in an interview, somebody asked him about me, and he mentioned ‘the killer behind the smile’. And to me, that was like the biggest compliment.”
