Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors have been under the same breath of fans for the past decade. Moreover, judging from the 2x NBA MVP’s commitment plans to the Warriors franchise, it might continue for another decade. Taking inspiration from legends of the Lakers and the Mavericks, Curry talked about his plans to retire with the Golden State Warriors.

Stephen Curry has been the face of the league for well over a decade now. The success and fame of Curry with the Warriors jersey on has undoubtedly made the team recognizable on a global scale. Curry is playing his 14th season with the Golden State Warriors. Further, his bold plans from a 2020 interview indicate the All-star point guard will play for them for years to come.

Stephen Curry plans on joining the club that includes Kobe Bryant and Dirk Nowitzki

In an interview with Complex in 2020, Stephen Curry sat down and addressed the launch of his new brand. The 4x NBA champion, after years of deliberation, launched his brand ‘Curry.’ The brand took birth under the wings of his long-time partner, Under Armour. While talking more about the brand and answering questions related to the upcoming season. Curry also revealed his long-term plans with the Warriors.

When asked whether he wanted to join the club of Kobe Bryant and Dirk Nowitzki, the players who have played for one team their entire careers. Curry firmly said, “One thousand percent. 1,000 percent.”?Curry harped back on all the highs and lows of his tenure with the Warriors. He also talked about the winning culture they have established over the years. He further sang the high praise of Bryant and Nowitzki for achieving such a historic feat. When it’s all said and done, he could end his career with the Warriors.

The Golden State Warriors seem to support Curry’s long-term goals with the team. The 2x NBA MVP signed an extension with the Warriors in 2021 worth $215 Million. Curry became the only player in NBA history to sign two over $200 Million contracts back to back. The contract will keep him with the Warriors till the 2025-26 season when he is 38 years old.

Kobe Bryant played for the Los Angeles Lakers and brought 5x NBA championships to LA. Many fans regard Bryant as the greatest Laker ever. On the other hand, Dirk Nowitzki played for the Dallas Mavericks and brought glory to the young franchise after winning a championship in 2011. Both the players are Hall of Famers and legends of the game. Another common thing between them is their loyalty to the team that drafted them. Bryant was a lifelong Laker. Similarly, Nowitzki never wore a jersey other than that of the Mavericks in his 21-year-long career. Curry also has adamant about doing the same.
