The ‘Baby Faced Assassin’ has a peculiar practice with his mouth guard. He can be seen chewing his mouth guard in between plays almost every game. Interestingly, his mouthpiece once fell out during a play when Curry was on his way to the basket. However, the former MVP not only caught it but also made the right pass.

Like a lot of NBA players, Curry also gives out his game-worn equipment to his loyal fans. And there is nothing new in the fans selling the game-worn stuff of superstars. Interestingly, this was not the first time someone auctioned a mouthguard as well.

Stephen Curry gave his mouthguard to a fan

Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors won the 2018 NBA finals by sweeping LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers. Curry and the Dubs displayed utter dominance throughout the series. After the end of game-4 and the Warriors lifted the trophy, a fan apparently asked Curry for his mouthpiece.

As per reports, the former MVP didn’t hesitate and tossed the mouthpiece he used in game-4 to the fan. And the fan had contacted SCP Auctions to sell it. This was the same auction company that had previously auctioned another mouthguard of Curry for $3,190.

SCP Auctions president David Kohler, per Rovell, “said the mouth guard, which has the Under Armour logo and Curry’s interlocking SC logo, could be worth at least $25,000.” “It would be perfect,” Kohler added, “for a Warriors fan who is a dentist.”

From 2014 to 2018, the rivalry between the Cavs and the Warriors was at a peak. Because they faced each other in four straight NBA finals in that time period. The Warriors won their first meeting. However, the Cavaliers had their revenge the next year. And they did it in extraordinary fashion as they came back from a 3-1 deficit.

That was the first time a 3-1 deficit had been overturned in the finals. However, the Warriors added Kevin Durant to their rank and won the next two finals with ease. And the 2018 Finals was a sweep.
