He never accepted anything less than 100%, and brought the best out of his teammates. However, another point of view is that this obsession of Kobe’s was in fact a con. Warriors star Stephen Curry however, has other beliefs.

The icon that is Kobe Bryant lost his life in early 2020. Yet, he left behind a treasure chest of memories and performances. The likes of Stephen Curry and Devin Booker have always expressed their love and admiration for the former Laker. A 5-time NBA champion and 18-time All-Star, ‘Mamba’ still remains the benchmark for guard-forwards.

Stephen Curry gives his take on Kobe Bryant the teammate

On more occasions than one, 33-year-old Curry has sung praise of Kobe. It comes as no surprise, as the former star has taught today’s 3-point shooting leader so much. More than anything, his no-rubbish policy not only inspired Steph, but all of us too. Who doesn’t recall Kobe’s serious look, when he was shown a clip of his teammates celebrating LA breaking a losing streak, during a talk show.

Talking with The Athletic, 8-time All-Star Curry spoke about the kind of teammate Kobe was. “There was always that talk about him as a teammate,” said Curry. “But whether you liked him or not, or whether you liked playing with him or not, he was such a dog, such a fiery guy, that you knew he was going to push you. And when it showed up on the court, it almost brought a level of intensity out that, if you didn’t know you had it, you were envious of it almost.”

It is with due reason that Kobe Bryant earned nicknames like ‘Mamba’ and ‘mental giant’. As Curry said, regardless of your opinion on his mentality, he was a once-in-a-lifetime persona. Today and always, we miss Kobe Bryant!
