The Splash Brothers are back at basketball’s grandest stage, the NBA Finals, hoping to capture their fourth championship. Stephen Curry has been piling up solid numbers across the board while also putting on a 3-pointer barrage. Meanwhile, Klay Thompson was bogged in mud for the first two games against the Boston Celtics.

Thompson has managed 13 ppg while shooting 30% from the field and 26.7% from deep in the NBA Finals. He has seemed to be a shadow of himself, as such poor shooting numbers from the gunslinger are rare. Stephen Curry, however, is unconcerned about his backcourt partner’s slump. He reckons it will only be a matter of time until Klay returns to form.

In an interview, Curry was asked about Klay Thompson’s struggles in the first two games.

“It is a tricky thing. It’s like you don’t tell Klay Thompson to do anything different. He’s Klay Thompson. We’ve seen it year after year after year. We’ve seen him impact series with breakout games. He’s got the nickname ‘Game 6 Klay’ for a reason,” Curry said.

“So, there’s nothing really in terms of his confidence or anything you need to say to him. It’s just a matter of understanding how Boston’s defending him and where he can let the game come to him a little bit,” he added.

“So, whether he’s getting a bunch of shots early or late or whenever it comes in the game, be ready for his moment because he knows it’s coming. I’m not a real gambling man, but I would put a lot of money on Klay’s going to have his moment, shine, and impact the series in a significant way,” he concluded.

Stephen Curry has Klay Thompson’s back

Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson have been together at the Golden State Warriors since 2011. Both the human snipers have led the charge for the Golden State Warriors and propelled them to 3 championships together. “Chef Curry” and “Game 6 Klay” are much more than nicknames; they reflect the feelings and pleasures these shooting geniuses have brought to the team.

Stephen Curry has got his friends back. Klay Thompson, however, might just have to watch some “Game 6 Klay” highlights to get out of the slump.

When Thompson is shooting well and sinking shots, the Warriors are exceedingly difficult to overcome. When he isn’t, they’re still difficult to match, but they’re more prone to failing to develop a consistent attacking rhythm.

Thompson will always have plenty of opportunities to get buckets while starring alongside the game’s most lethal shooter. However, it is up to him to reap the benefits of those opportunities that will eventually emerge.
