Victory is always sweet. However, when it comes from revenge, it only tastes sweeter. For the women of Stanford, they beat rivals Texas longhorns to enter the final four of the NCAA tournament. Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry took to Twitter to react to Stanford’s emphatic victory. However, he did so by relating it to an iconic moment from this year’s Oscars award show.
The Oscars are always an occasion where all eyes are glued in. But this year saw one of the most bizarre moments in the award show’s history. After Chris Rock cracked a joke on Jada Pinkett Smith, her husband Will Smith was not happy. He went right up on the stage and hit Rock right in the face for taking a dig at this wife. The slap was heard all around, and it was no different for Steph.

While Smith’s slap was sure loud, the Cardinal gave it tough competition. In a scrappy game, Stanford rose to the top in a 59-50 win over Texas. Lexie Hull was the star yet again as she popped off for 20 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists. Haley Jones and Cameron Brinks combined to score 28 points in the valuable win over Texas.
As for the Longhorns, Joanne Allen-Taylor led the way with 15 points. Rori Harmon also nudged in with 14 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. However, no other player could get it going. Both teams had a poor offensive night as the defenses reigned supreme. But poor free-throw shooting saw the Longhorns go down as they shot just 55% from the line.
