Ja Morant just revealed in a recent interview the obstructions he had to weather to deliver his historic 47-point performance in Game 2 of the Western Conference semifinals against Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors. In the series, the Dubs led by Stephen Curry and his career-defining postseason got the better of the Grizzlies in six games. However, Morant’s story of playing with an eye injury is certainly one for the NBA archives.

As it turns out, Ja Morant couldn’t see properly after getting poked in the eye in the third quarter of Game 2 against the Warriors. The Grizzlies point guard went to the sidelines to get some treatment. However, his vision stayed blurry even after applying eye drops repeatedly.

Therefore, Morant decided to cheat on his eye test to get back on the court. In other words, the 22-year-old phenom lied to the doctors to help out his team in a dire situation.

The Memphis Grizzlies needed to beat the Golden State Warriors in Game 2 after losing the first home game. Therefore, they needed their star, Ja Morant to deliver a blockbuster performance.

However, Morant got poked in the eye during the game. As a result, he had to go inside the tunnel for treatment. But the 2022 NBA Most Improved Player’s vision didn’t improve with time. Therefore, the 6’3″ point guard decided to get back in action with a blurry vision.

However, he had to get the approval of a physician first before getting back in. As a result, he cheated on his eye exam. In fact, he lied to the doctors about his eye condition.

Meanwhile, Morant returned to the court and scored 18 points in the fourth quarter. Not only that, he shot 6-for-11 from the field with a blurry vision to win the game for his team.
