Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks recently faced off against the New Orleans Pelicans for the third time this season. In the absence of Zion Williamson, the Pelicans fell deep in the waters with an unsurmountable lead of 27 points by the third quarter. However, about five minutes into the third quarter, after driving for a layup and getting denied at the rim, Doncic suffered a hard fall. Subsequently, to the absolute horror of many Dallas fans, the Slovenian superstar grabbed his ankle, wincing in pain. Soon after, he headed to the locker room, limping, for further examination and did not return for the game.
Consequently, after Doncic’s exit, the Mavericks shockingly gave away the massive lead by the end of the quarter. The game remained close till the final minutes before the Mavericks narrowly beat the Pelicans with the final score of 111-106. Since the scary fall, Doncic has been trending all night on social media. However, in the morning, NBA writer Tim MacMohan broke some disheartening news for the NBA world.
Luka Doncic got an MRI today and didn’t practice. Jason Kidd says it’s too soon to say if Doncic will be available tomorrow vs. Warriors. Source told me that the heel contusion is “not severe,” but it’s TBD if Doncic will need to miss time.

MacMohan reported that Doncic had an MRI and did not practice. However, the severity of the injury has been determined as ‘not severe’, and he has been deemed questionable for the upcoming matchup against the Stephen Curry-led Golden State Warriors.
The headline came as a blow to many fans eagerly anticipating the star-studded matchup. Meanwhile, Dallas fans took to social media to vent their frustrations and wish for Doncic’s recovery.
Dallas fans’ uproar on social media
After witnessing the drastic plummet in performance of the Mavericks without Doncic in the third quarter against the Pelicans, fans vehemently expressed their frustrations with the squad.
Here are some fan reactions on Twitter:
Any time he misses and Dallas is done. They could hardly hold on to a 27 point lead for 1 quarter without him

If this isn’t a indication to bonehead cubes, to get this man some real damn help for the first time in his career. Then I don’t know what is.
