The 2022 Western Conference semifinals between the Golden State Warriors, led by superstar Stephen Curry, and the Memphis Grizzlies turned out to be a very heated encounter. In fact, multiple players from both sides exchanged comments and the tension between the teams remained high throughout the series.
As it turns out, the animosity between the two sides dates back two years when Stephen Curry and Grizzlies star Ja Morant got entangled in an online feud with each other.
In other words, Stephen Curry and Ja Morant publicly exchanged barbs on social media over NBA All-Star Andre Iguodala. Iguodala won three championships with the Warriors from 2015 to 2018. However, the Dubs front office decided to trade him in 2019.

Meanwhile, the 2015 Finals MVP ended up with the Grizzlies. And things started to sour from there.
Stephen Curry and Ja Morant reportedly exchanged private messages after public feud
The Grizzlies were supposed to trade Iguodala after acquiring him. However, the Memphis front office couldn’t get any interesting offers right off the bat. As the trade deadline approached, Iguodala reportedly seemed unwilling to play even a minute for the Grizzlies for the rest of the season.
As a result, Grizzlies star Dillon Brooks decided to call him out. “A guy that’s on our team doesn’t want to be on our team,” he said to reporters.?”I can’t wait until we find a way to trade him so we can play him, and I can show him what really Memphis is about.”
Meanwhile, Ja Morant co-signed Brooks’ comments. Therefore, Stephen Curry fired back at Morant with a picture of Iguodala holding the Larry O’Brien trophy. In response to Curry’s jibe, the 2020 Rookie of the Year posted a picture of Kevin Durant with a Finals MVP.
Afterward, Morant reportedly revealed that he had exchanged private messages with Stephen Curry. And he shares a “mutual respect” for the Dubs superstar.
