Kevin Durant has finally handed in the trade request at the Brooklyn Nets. In the offseason, KD has added fuel to the fire for the Nets. With the Nets already amidst a fiasco with Kyrie Irving, they need to think about the possibility of both of them leaving in the offseason. As far as the Nets are concerned, they will look to keep at least one if not both their stars. Moreover, KD reportedly being on the move means rumors of his return to the Warriors are afloat.

The last time KD joined the Warriors was when LeBron James and Kyrie Irving of the Cleveland Cavaliers shocked them after bouncing back from a 3-1 deficit in the 2016 NBA finals. The Warriors were NBA champions just a year before that in 2015. Then KD came along and they loved him. He won two finals MVPs in a row and the Warriors were NBA champions two years in a row.

Recent reports suggest the Warriors are exploring how they might have a trade package. Kevin Durant is 34, and still someone who can create magic. He averaged 29.9 points, 7.4 rebounds and 6.3 assists in 74 games played in the regular season. This was the third highest points average in KD?s history. He has shown that he can still produce. This is exactly the reason the Nets would try hard to make him stay.

The Warriors, on the other hand, are the NBA champions. They have a project in the works with the likes of Jordan Poole, Andrew Wiggins and some young players who are on the right track. Obviously led by Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green. Now, to orchestrate something, they would have to let go of some, if not all of these talents who have proved they deserve to be on the team. As far as the players are concerned, once again, the reports suggest that Curry and Green would welcome KD with open arms.

With Kyrie Irving reportedly on the move, a reunion with LeBron James at the Lakers is an obvious rumor. People are understandably excited and hopeful that some sort of deal falls through. However, it is important to understand that Nets are not ready to accommodate Kyrie. This means they will only go through with a deal which benefits them more than it does to Kyrie.?

Ideally, they are planning to have a deal for Kyrie and let him go. As of now, they plan to use that money and resources to keep Kevin Durant. Everything is still in the early stages. But one thing is for sure, the next month is really crucial for KD, Kyrie and the Nets.
