Barkley recently joined WNBA legends Diana Taurasi and Sue Bird on the Bird and Taurasi Show.?During the show, the 11x All-Star stated that he never understood why companies never worked with Bird and Taurasi (and other WNBA players) for years. Sir Charles said, “You ladies could be on commercials everywhere. We put bad NBA players in commercials before some of y’all superstars.”?

In response to his statements, Johnson took to Twitter and expressed his opinions. He said, “Well Chuck I agree wholeheartedly and I suggest you start by offering them a few of your dozen that you have. Now that?s making a statement.”

Barkley has acted in a myriad of commercials including this year’s Capital One commercial with legends like Magic Johnson, Samuel L. Jackson, and Spike Lee. As the Chuckster had done so many commercials over the years, the former Suns players indicated that he should start giving female hoopers a chance in his commercials instead of just speaking about it. However, Johnson’s statements about the former Philadelphia 76ers player didn’t sit well with a few fans.

Fans throw shade at Johnson for his comments about Barkley

Shortly after Johnson revealed his take, a few Twitter users replied to his comments. The 1989 NBA Sixth Man of the Year replied, “Yes he does waterboy. Chuck never takes cash he takes options. Stay in the waterboy lane.”?This reply made him receive another reply from the said fan who took a dig at him by saying the following:

Another fan’s comment also expressed the same thing that the previous user wanted to say.
