While stars like LeBron James and Stephen Curry stay out of controversies both on and off the court, Kevin Durant is different. The Brooklyn Nets star is known for voicing his opinion on topics on Twitter and also in press conferences.

In one such incident, Durant got into a verbal spat with a fan during the game against the Dallas Mavericks. This happened when a fan told Durant to take the game over and Durant gave it back to him. The association fined KD for using obscene language towards the fan that has left fans on Twitter enraged.

Kevin Durant gets fined for using obscene language

The Brooklyn Nets took on the Dallas Mavericks during a crucial matchup. Despite Luka Doncic putting up a brilliant performance, Kevin Durant took most of the headlines.

During the dying moments of the second quarter, a fan shouted at Durant saying, “You’ve got to take this game over.” KD is not one to hold back. He replied, “You’ve gotta shut the f–k up and sit down.”

Although the officials took no action during the game, the league association stepped in. They fined the Brooklyn Nets star a whopping $25,000 for using obscene language. Being his usual hilarious self, Durant gave his reactions to the fine on Twitter.

Putting all controversies aside, Durant had a decent game for his team, which ended in vain. He scored 23 points, 10 assists, and 6 rebounds. On the other hand, Luka Doncic scored 37 points, 9 rebounds, and 9 assists to lead his team to victory. With this win, the Mavericks take 5th place in the Western Conference and the Nets are currently 8th in the Eastern Conference.
