Over a week ago, Charles Barkley stated that the Netherlands soccer team was in trouble because of facing the US men’s national soccer team in the round of 16 of the ongoing FIFA World Cup. Unfortunately, the US lost the match and one of the scorers of the Netherlands, Memphis Depay, called out Barkley for his aforementioned statement. However, Barkley also didn’t hold back. Lately, the Philadelphia 76ers legend warned the Dutch soccer star about his comment regarding him.

The Dutch soccer star, Memphis Depay, is one of the players whose career got plagued with injuries. However, he was fortunate enough to represent his country in the World Cup. He utilized this chance and scored the opener against the US in the round of 16, which they ultimately won.

In addition to scoring a goal, he also called out Barkley on Twitter in response to his statement. He said regarding Barkley, ‘Lotta bark, no bite,’ along with posting a photo of Barkley and the final scorecard. However, Barkley didn’t respond to his words until recently.

Charles Barkley sent out a warning to Memphis Depay

In the recent episode of ‘The Steam Room,Charles Barkley and Ernie Johnson sat down together, as usual, to discuss various things. However, amidst the discussions, Barkley gave a shootout to the US men’s national team despite their loss against the Netherlands. The Sixers legend started off by saying he got disappointed after their loss. However, regardless of that, he said Depay’s tweet caught his attention. Subsequently added a warning for the Dutch soccer star. He said, “Memphis when I see you, I am gonna open a can of whoop a** on you,”?in regard to the tweet of Depay.

Barkley’s statements probably indicated he wanted to prove to Depay that he could bite too whenever needed, along with barking. Therefore, his statements also implied that he was not happy with the words of the Dutch soccer star and wanted to prove him wrong.
