The Golden State Warriors’ season came to an abrupt and disappointing end. After a difficult start to the season, the Warriors were able to rally, thanks to the incredible performances of Stephen Curry. Curry helped push the Warriors to eighth place, where they entered the playoff tournament. However, consecutive losses to the Lakers and the Grizzlies ruled them out of the playoffs. Now, the Warriors are looking forward to the new season and the return of Klay Thompson.
Klay Thompson will uplift the Warriors next year
Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr gave an interview recently, where he noted that next season will be special because Klay Thompson will be back. Going into the pre-season, morale will be high because Thompson will be starting pre-season training with them. Thompson is an integral part of the franchise, and his first return to the team will spell a new beginning for the franchise, especially after two years away.

Kerr said, “Light it up, for one thing. Everyone loves Klay, he is such a breath of fresh air, he’s so much fun to be around. The fact that, when we walk into camp for the first time next year, it’s all together with Klay being on the court with the rest of the guys… That means everybody’s spirits will be higher, including mine.”

Kerr added that Klay Thompson’s return is highly anticipated, and fans have been clamoring to see Klay for a long time. Thompson suffered a brutal ACL tear during the 2019 NBA Finals. This season, he was on track to return, but another injury, this time an Achilles tear, ruled him out for the rest of the season. So for Klay to face fans for the first time in two years will be a special occasion and an emotional one at that.
Kerr said, “I literally think about the first game back at Chase for Klay Thompson, and the ovation that guy is going to get. It’s going to be so emotional, for everybody. I can’t wait for that night because nobody deserves that more than Klay.”
