Kim Mulkey had coached Baylor Lady Bears, which housed generational talents like Brittney Griner. Moreover, Griner played a crucial part in one of Baylor’s successful NCAA campaigns. Despite this camaraderie, Kim Mulkey had opted not to speak for Brittney Griner during a crucial time, triggering a lot of backlash.

Last year, Brittney Griner was arrested and detained in Russia for carrying trace amounts of hash oil in her belongings. The WNBA superstar was imprisoned for around eight months. The incident sent shockwaves across the sporting community, and numerous athletes had chimed in with their thoughts on the tragic incident. However, Kim Mulkey had refused to comment on the situation.

However, Mulkey had later revealed that she had actually addressed the issue and had even prayed for the Phoenix Mercury star’s safe return. She clarified that she had no hard feelings against her former student despite Griner’s allegations against her during her stint at Baylor.
Now, as things turn out, the tumultuous times have come to an end for the LSU Tigers coach. At the heart of the redemption is the LSU Tigers’ first ever NCAA championship win. With this victory, Mulkey, has added a fourth NCAA title to her list of accolades.

Me’arah took to Instagram and shared on her story a video of Kim Mulkey giving a post-game interview to ESPN. The superstar’s daughter filled the story with ‘goat’ emojis,crowning Kim Mulkey as the “GOAT-” greatest of all time.

Shaq lauds the Tigers’ triumph

Following the LSU Tigers’ stylish march to their first title, LSU alumnus Shaquille O’Neal could not contain his excitement. Lauding his alma mater’s success, the 4x- NBA champion rushed to Instagram and took a moment to congratulate the triumphant young ladies. O’Neal’s post featured a victorious Kim Mulkey who was trying to control her tears of happiness. Moreover, DJ Diesel also stormed to twitter to defend the LSU icon Angel Reese who is criticized for her gesture against Caitlin Clark of the Hawkeyes.
